Terms of Use

These terms are an agreement between you and Carbon Software LTD, a company registered in Northern Ireland (company number NI735624) (“CutWise”, “we”, “us”). By downloading or using CutWise you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app.

Who can use CutWise

You must be at least 16 years old to use CutWise. By using it, you confirm that you are.

The service

CutWise helps you log food, exercise, weight and activity, and estimates the calories and macros of what you log using AI. Those estimates are best-effort and editable — you can change any number before you log it, and you’re responsible for the figures you confirm. We may add, change, or remove features over time.

Health & medical disclaimer

CutWise is a tracking tool, not a medical device, and it does not provide medical, nutritional, or clinical advice. Calorie and macro figures are estimates and may be inaccurate. Always consult a qualified professional before making decisions about your diet, health, exercise, or any medical condition.

Calorie tracking isn’t right for everyone. If you have, or are at risk of, an eating disorder or any condition affected by monitoring food or weight, please speak to a healthcare professional before using CutWise.

Your account

You can use CutWise anonymously, with your account tied to a recovery key on your device, or save it by linking Apple, Google, or an email and password. You’re responsible for keeping your sign-in secure and for activity under your account. You can delete your account and all its data at any time from within the app.

Subscriptions

CutWise is free to use with a limited number of AI-assisted logs. CutWise Pro is an auto-renewing subscription — $3.99 per month or $19.99 per year (or the local equivalent) — that raises those limits.

• Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase.
• It renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Your Apple Account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
• Manage or cancel anytime in your Apple subscription settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period.
• Refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store terms.

Subscriptions are also governed by Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. If we change subscription pricing, we’ll give notice and any increase will follow the App Store’s rules for your consent.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• abuse, disrupt, overload, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the service;
• reverse-engineer, scrape, or circumvent usage limits or security;
• use CutWise for anything unlawful, or misuse the AI features.

Your content & our content

Your logs and data are yours. You grant us the permission needed to process them to provide the service (including sending what you submit to our AI provider for estimation, as described in our Privacy Policy). CutWise itself — the app, design, and brand — belongs to Carbon Software LTD, and these terms don’t give you rights to it beyond using the app.

Availability & “as is”

We work hard to keep CutWise running, but it’s provided “as is” without warranties, and we can’t guarantee it will always be available, error-free, or accurate. We may suspend or change the service when we need to.

Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we’re not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for decisions you make based on the app’s estimates. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law, and none of this affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

Ending these terms

You can stop using CutWise and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or misuse the service.

Changes

We may update these terms as CutWise evolves. We’ll update the date above, and continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Northern Ireland, and the courts of Northern Ireland will have jurisdiction — without affecting any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have where you live.
